The Oak Hill Elementary School Kick-Off Food Drive was an amazing success. OHES students and staff collected 3,539 food items for the Growing Oaks Food Program and the Oak Hill Food Pantry! Emily Woods’ class collected the most items, with 269 donated. The individual student winners each won jerseys, donated by Daniel Stewart. Student winners were (front): Rhyan Lester, Izabelle Dyer, Macelyn McManis, AJ Blue, and Dylan Harris. (Back): Blazden Boggs, Luke Johnson, Colton Perry, Blaise Barger, and Ryleigh Little.
Staff winners for participation were Rob Leonard and Susan Michael.
Second grade student Carson Eisnaugle individually brought in 200 cans for his class, too. While we did have individual and class winners, it’s our community and all the OHES students that truly win. The students learn the importance of giving what you can, and the community benefits from getting food donations for those who need a helping hand. September 2019
