Student Recognized With Awards
The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Leaders recognized Micaela Casto with The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence. Micaela represented Oak Hill High School and the Oak Hill community during the November 2014 Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington D.C. where she was inspired and motivated to achieve her dream of a career in the medical field of neonatology.
2015 Honor Graduates
Mr. Randy Layton, Principal of Oak Hill High School, has announced the honor graduates for the Class of 2015. The valedictorian of this year’s graduating class is Ms. Merrill Melvin, and the salutatorian is Ms. Makayla Clarkson.
Ms. Merrill Melvin is the daughter of William and Kristi Melvin. Her school activities include Varsity Girls Basketball, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Cross Country. She is also a member of The National Honor Society and Hi-Q Team. Merrill is also involved in AAU Basketball, Club Volleyball, and a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church. Ms. Melvin will be attending Shawnee State University this fall in the Occupational Therapy 3+2 program to obtain her Masters in Occupational Therapy.
Ms. Makayla Clarkson is the daughter of Guy and Lora Sheets. Her school activities include National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Science Club, and Choir. Makayla is the Vice President of the Senior Class. Makayla is also involved in the Ablaze Youth Group. Ms. Clarkson plans on attending The University of Rio Grande to obtain a Nursing degree and eventually become a Neonatal Nurse.
